Abstract

The Nilgiris district is India’s first and foremost biosphere reserve. The plants and wild fruits of the Nilgiris have medicinal properties. “In the Nilgiris district, ethnic groups such as the Badagas have been living in the Western Ghats since 300 BC. The wild fruits, plants, cereals they used are special”, noting the storage of their medicinal plants by M. Cyril Nayagam et al. (2015).
