Abstract

Inscriptions, plates, coins, archaeological artifacts, archeological symbols etc. are the primary data to reconstruct and write the history of Tamil Nadu. In such primary data, Seppads gets prime position to write political history. Because the vernacular portion of the Cheppets recounts in detail the stories of the ancestors of the king who published the Cheppet and their heroic deeds.
Esalam Seppedu I was published by Rajendra Chola. Acheppedu gives various historical messages. It shares the news that Sarvasiva Pandita, the guru of this king, donated two villages to the Thiruvirameswaram temple taken in Eidar. The purpose of this article is to study about the dungeons and water bodies in the cities that were so given.
