Abstract

Kuravanji is written in literature so that the story of Mohini, who fell in love with the Tamil god Murugan, is easily understood by  Kathtar and Kallar. Tirumurugan’s glories in Thirusirala Vaikarai have been published as a book titled ‘Sendhil Kuravanchi’. This article is to examine the book “Senthil Kuravanji”.
This book begins with the salutation of Vinayakan, Shiva and Thirumal, explaining the merits of Velavar Dasanka, the prosperity of Viralimalai Vela, Mohini’s enchantment at the sight of Velavar Thirukolam, seeing the mark, the Devadasi ritual at Tiruchendur temple, Mohini reaching her life-leader Velavan, giving good omens, ‘Sendhil Kuravanchi’ which arose centered on Thiruchentilampathi. ‘ It is best seen as a substitute for the Thirukutalak Kuravanchi, composed by Trikudarasappa Kaviraya. 32 songs such as Malaivalam, Vasalvalam, Kai Bheer Thai, and Murugan Sekatoraithal have been included.
