Abstract

The lifestyle of Neythal land people is unique in the ancient Tamil society. Dependence on the ocean surface is the livelihood of these people. The Sangam songs tell us that the weaves’ daily lives are interwoven with those of the people of the land, where the weavers include marginal people such as fishing Bharathavas, Umanas who sell salt, and who sell Wood. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to highlight the elements of life such as life, worship, hospitality and entertainment of the weaving land people during the Sangam period.
