Influence of Folk Literature on Silampu

Abstract

Folk literature is the true emotional expression of the soul wandering in the womb of the earth. It can be said that the oral literary genre was conceived when the origin of language originated. The world’s  rst language and then oral literature and subsequent written literature can be considered to have ourished. Folk literature is categorised as Folk literature, folk songs, stories, anecdotes, proverbs, legends, myths. All these folk literary elements abound in the epics. The purpose of this article is to examine the in uence of folk literature on folk greetings, lines, hymns, folk dances, certain beliefs and customs, especially in Silappathikaram.
